NCHS PTSA Committees
After Prom - Identify, organize, and run fundraising opportunities, recruit volunteers for committee and events. Promote events and work with school administration and senior class advisors, as needed. Work with the Treasurer to create a budget and submit appropriate paperwork to the President to send to school administration.
Co-Chair and many committee members - Planning decorations, food, business donations /
requests, securing prizes, staffing event(s), etc.
Senior Banners - Create and maintain Google forms, receive and verify orders for Senior Banners. Coordinate edits with parents and place orders with vendor(s). Recruit volunteers and plan with administration for hanging / removing banners.
Budget - Committee meets 2-3 times during the summer to look over the budget and make suggestions for the Treasurer on a budget that gets approved in either September or October.
Communication - Works with other committees to provide updates and content for PTSA Facebook and Instagram pages, in addition to the PTSA website. Assist with creating flyers, ads, etc.
Co-Chair - provides communication on upcoming events (etc.) with the teachers and administration.
Assist with general communications, as able.
Craft & Vendor Fair - Coordinate dates (with school administration) for Fall and Spring fairs. Promote the fairs, email potential vendors, maintain vendor list, and plan the layout. Recruit volunteers and run the fairs.
Fundraising - Promote current fundraisers, identify and organize fundraiser opportunities. Submit appropriate paperwork to the President.
Hospitality - Coordinate dates (with school administration) and themes for Teacher/Staff appreciation events held throughout the year; Back to School Teacher Breakfast & Teacher / Staff Appreciation Week, as well as ‘pop up’ events (including coffee and treat days at the end of a quarter). Create and coordinate donation sign ups, as needed. Recruit volunteers to staff events.
Membership - Conduct membership drive and promote the benefits of the PTSA to our school and neighborhood communities. Welcome new families/households throughout the year, sharing the benefits of the PTA. Attend Back To School orientations. Maintain current member spreadsheet.
Nominating - Solicit suggestions for officer nominees by sending out announcements/contacting general membership using available communication channels - email, website, social media, etc. Screen/Interview candidates, outlining roles and responsibilities. Prepare a slate of nominees (one nominees per officer position) for the general membership to vote on in May.
Scholarship - Committee chair gets the forms and gives instructions to the three judges who rank them. Chair calculates the top submissions and coordinates with the guidance department chair for Senior Awards Night. Neither Chair nor judges can be a senior parent.
